Laura Janes is a painter and printmaker based in Califon, New Jersey whose work explores a conversation between the organic and ever-changing, mechanized world through a fascination with the human form as a symbol of resilience. Janes earned her Bachelors of Fine Arts degree in painting from the Hartford Art School, at the University of Hartford in 2025 and their Associates of Fine Arts from the Raritan Valley Community College in 2023. She has exhibited her work in juried exhibitions as well as their Senior Bachelors of Fine Arts exhibition in painting. Janes’ work is recognized for its exploration of breaking the confines of their medium through sculptural elements found within their work and the consistent topic of artistic protest against a modernizing world.
